C.R. is back in the park

by: T Rob

C.R. Johnson is back in the park. For the last couple days, he has been sessioning the Poor Boyz jump at Ski Bowl. This is one of a handful of jumps he has hit in the last five years and this one is the biggest.

For those that don’t know, a few years ago, C.R. was in a near tragic ski accident where he lost the ability to do anything. However, he was and still is determined to relearn how to ski and get better than he was before the accident.

He started his return to park skiing by checking out the jump, spending more time than anyone else to check the in-run and speed checking the jump. He hit it yesterday and slowly started rebuilding his trick arsenal. He started with threes and worked his way up. He may not have been throwing double flips like some of the other skiers, but he was more determined than anyone else to give all he had.

Today, C.R. continued where he left off yesterday, trying his best to progress. When we were taking a short break, he was the first skier to ask to get a tow up to the starting point for the jump. Within one hit, other skiers joined in to get the session restarted. His drive and motivation got all of the other skiers back out on the jump to forget about the pain in their elbows, knees, or shoulders just to give it all like he was.

C.R. has overcome, he will continue to do so, and I can’t wait until tomorrow so see what else he will do. C.R. is, without a doubt, one of the most inspirational skiers today. Look for C.R. and the rest of the Poor Boyz crew in Everyday Is A Saturday dropping his fall.
